You can upgrade to the latest version from any previuos version of Litium Studio. We generally recommend that you run the latest version of Litium Studio.
About the upgrade process
An upgrade should be made in two steps; first upgrade the product, then the solution. The upgrade program included in the package upgrades the product only, not add-ons or the customer specific solution. The product contains of modules and core features in the release package.
On top of the product add-ons (packaged chunks of specific features that are not included in the product) and the customer solution are applied.
The solution is everything customized specifically in the project for example templates, page types, back office panels, checkoutflow and css files. These are not automatically updated when you run the upgrade program. Since there is likely to be breaking changes between product versions, you will also have to update your solution.
Before you download and start the upgrade program it is important to read through the upgrade guide. Depending on which version you are upgrading from, the instructions differ. Choose the proper version below.
